Ambleside and Dundarave BIA

Ambleside and Dundarave BIA (or ADBIA) is a business improvement association for the Ambleside Beach and Dundarave Village shopping areas in West Vancouver. Using information that was gathered from focus groups, along with a new brand and the goals of the BIA to design a fresh new website.

The key purposes of the ADBIA are to attract visitors to the area, help local residents and visitors find local businesses and activities in their community, and empower BIA members (local businesses) by giving them a platform to promote themselves. I wanted the website to enhance the public’s perception of the area as a pleasant oceanside community by highlighting the culture and lifestyle. I enforced the ADBIA’s tagline: “Creative Seaside Communities'' by showing the beaches and shops, but also community events and lifestyle. One of the biggest challenges Ambleside and Dundarave face is a lack of awareness on how to get to the area. In order to finally convince people to visit, I included a “Get Directions'' map at the bottom of many of the pages.

On the individual pages for Ambleside Beach and Dundarave Village, I used the concept of visitors coming for a “day trip”, spending the afternoon at Ambleside Beach and the evening in Dundarave village. Each page tells a story of what activities one could expect to do, accompanied by beautiful photos. Other areas of the site feature tools such as a business directory and an events calendar.

The updated ADBIA website was energetic, engaging, and reflected the spirit of the area. It allows users to effortlessly get to know the area. The website perfectly correlates with the new brands vibrant colours and lively images.
